Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for the Sentinel SEIT Program Execution & Operations team. This position can be located in Roy, UT, Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL.

What You'll Get to Do:
The selected engineer will be a systems engineering SME and responsible for driving technical rigor into work products for all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout). This role is highly visible with an executive presence and candidate must have an ability to work well with high level NG and government customers. The candidate must be able to thrive in a highly dynamic environment with competing priorities and possess the ability to support the team in an agile manner.

Supports the Program Technical Integration team, within SEIT PE&O. Position includes significant internal and external customer interaction and presentations.

  • Agile


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 12 years of experience; or Master's degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • 5 years of Systems Engineering experience required
  • 1+ years of experience in the full life cycle of Systems Engineering (requirements definition/decomposition, requirements/system verification, etc.)
  • 3+ years experience in program management, engineering, software configuration
  • 3+ years experience working development, production and/or sustainment programs
  • 3+ years experience/Training in Earned Value Management
  • 3+ years experience with BOE creation and modifications
  • 3+ years briefing leadership and providing status both down and in and up and out
  • 3+ years Familiarity with Agile practices and the Atlassian/JIRA suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with complex system development on large programs
  • Experience with flight hardware
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Technical leadership experience in the area of Systems Engineering
  • Executive presence and comfort at that level
  • Proficiency/Expert with Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Cost Account Management/Control Account Management Certification
  • Capital Project management Experience

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
