The Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Segment of the Sentinel Program is looking to add a Principal Systems (T03) Engineer to support the System Test Team (STT) team in Roy, UT.

The selected engineer will be responsible for multiple tasks within requirements and verification for STT. The engineer will be responsible for performing tasks dealing with requirements identification, review, allocation, integrated test planning, verification planning, and requirements traceability.

This position's duties include:

  • Requirement identification, review, and refinement based on knowledge of the program Integrated Product Teams’ (IPTs) and Customer’s test objectives, performance objectives, constraints, functional and performance requirements, and measures of effectiveness (MOEs)
  • Requirement identification, review, and refinement based on knowledge of the system functions, performance, and interfaces
  • Review requirements against standard quality criteria (i.e., feasible, verifiable, testable, unambiguous)
  • Allocate system-level requirements to system-level test teams (i.e., lab, ground, flight). Update Integrated Test Plans/verification plans to reflect allocation decisions. Coordinate with IPTs, test teams, and the customer to maintain allocation integrity.
  • Ensure requirement and test objective traceability to test location/environment
  • Documentation of requirements verification planning. Verification planning will transition into verification execution which includes development and review of verification artifacts, requirement verification report generation, and management of the approval process
  • Work in a collaborative environment, across all system functions. Work with teammates across a wide variety of disciplines and get intimately familiar with all aspects of the Sentinel Program, the missile, and NG process

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 3 years with a master’s degree or 1 years with a PhD
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Knowledge of Test Engineering and Test Execution
  • Knowledge of the Systems Engineering process
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and Systems Thinking mindset
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work self-sufficiently
  • Experience working across program organizations to find solutions
  • Excellent decision making and communication (written and oral) skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Test Engineering and Test Execution experience
  • Systems Engineering experience
  • Experience modeling with requirements management tools such as DOORS
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs
  • Experience with flight hardware
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • In scope (<5 years) Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Past/Active employment with MMIII or Sentinel Weapon Systems
  • Experience with team leadership

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
