Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Mission Assurance - Design Assurance Manager 1.  This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.   

 

What You’ll Get To Do:  

·         Analyzing and validating electromechanical hardware models, systems, and other related documents (e.g., GD&T, materials, form/fit/function, manufacturability, feasibility, and economy of fabrication).

·         Recommending changes/revisions to design packages necessary for approval and buy-off during multiphase review meetings as a Mission Assurance (MA) / DA representative.

·         Review practices, procedures, and processes aiming to standardize and continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness to reduce risk to product quality.

·         Participating in engineering boards as a Mission Assurance / Design Assurance representative.

·         Develop and maintain metrics representative of assigned scope for program review and visibility

·         Review subcontractor design work and provide recommendations/changes for approval.

·         Maintain a Quality Management System ensuring that products and services conform to company standards of excellence (e.g., AS9100, Statement of Work).

·         Perform other Mission Assurance related tasks and objectives (e.g., program improvement efforts, collaborations, planning).

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   Relocation may be offered.

 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications: 

·         Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or Masters degree and 3 years experience

·         1+ year(s) experience leading projects or cross-functional teams.

·         Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

 

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 

·         Experience managing people.

·         Experience as a design engineer or design assurance engineer.

·         Experience with Siemens CPLM and NX or similar.

·         Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously.

·         Experience in Mission Assurance / Quality.

·         Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.

·         Experience with abiding and maintaining a multiphase design/approval process.

·         Experience with abiding and maintaining a Quality Management System.

·         Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO9001 certified workplace.

·         Experience with Agile software development methodologies.

 

Primary Level Salary Range: $104,500.00 - $156,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
