Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
As a Product Owner at Micron, you will be a key driver of cross-functional projects and strategic roadmaps to integrate Smart Manufacturing solutions throughout our global operations. Building on our solid foundation of AI capabilities, you will be instrumental in championing a shift toward more holistic, system-level thinking. A vital part of this role is using your deep domain expertise to bridge functional teams and mobilize the full company. In a landscape defined by the rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI), this role requires a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation. Your success will be built on a growth mindset. Deep domain expertise in semiconductor manufacturing, such as in DRAM product engineering (PE), global quality (GQ), or test and assembly, is a significant advantage that will guide the development of next-generation manufacturing intelligence!
This position is part of the Innovation Engineering and Technology (IET) team within our Smart Manufacturing and Artificial Intelligence (SMAI) organization. IET’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of AI across all engineering domains, from Technology Development (TD) to High Volume Manufacturing (HVM). You will act as a critical liaison, collaborating with experts across global sites to translate sophisticated engineering challenges into clear requirements and project plans. Your work will mobilize our Data Science (DS), Data Engineering (DE), and Machine Learning Engineering (MLE) teams to deliver impactful solutions.
The next 1-2 years are pivotal for securing Micron’s competitive edge through our AI platforms. The dynamic nature of AI and the broad scope of this role create an unparalleled opportunity for your professional growth. If you are a passionate problem-solver, we encourage you to apply and help us drive the future of AI in semiconductor manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities:
Holistic Solution & Cross-Functional Bridging: Act as a critical integrator, using your deep domain expertise to connect functional silos (e.g., Product Engineering, Quality, Test, Global Supply Chain). Champion a shift towards system-level thinking, ensuring solutions are holistic and integrated across business functions.
Domain Expertise & Requirements Translation: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on relevant manufacturing processes. Provide critical functional guidance and translate sophisticated engineering challenges from various domains into clear, actionable requirements for data science and software development teams.
Opportunity Identification: Analyze current manufacturing processes, systems, and workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for AI-driven improvements.
Solution Design & Business Case Development: Develop detailed arguments, project proposals, and business cases for new Smart Manufacturing solutions, clearly defining the scope, business value, return on investment (ROI), and implementation strategy.
Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams, coordinating resources from global engineering, IT, and operations groups to ensure the timely delivery of smart manufacturing initiatives.
Roadmap Development: Build and maintain the strategic roadmap for Smart Manufacturing solutions within your domain, aligning project priorities with business objectives.
Stakeholder & User Collaboration: Act as a critical liaison with experts and end-users across global sites. Be an expert in Micron's data sources, translating project requirements into available data and specifying new data engineering needs.
Performance Measurement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of implemented solutions and identify further opportunities for optimization.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a technical role within semiconductor manufacturing, such as product engineering, quality, test, or process integration.
Deep domain expertise in DRAM Product Engineering (PE) or Global Quality (GQ) is a significant advantage.
Demonstrated experience in project management or leading multi-functional technical initiatives.
Strong collaboration, influence, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to bridge cross-functional engineering domains and translate complex technical concepts between engineering and data science teams.
A strategic mindset with experience developing and communicating technology roadmaps.
A growth mindset and passion for applying AI and Smart Manufacturing solutions to solve complex problems.
Prior knowledge in data science is preferred but not a pre-requisite.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
