About the Team:

Coupang’s Global Tech Executive Sourcing Team is the company’s centralized executive search powerhouse, driving senior leadership hiring across all technical functions within Coupang's diverse domains and businesses — including product management, engineering, UX design, technical program management, data science and analytics, IT security, and more. We partner closely with executive leadership and recruiters to identify and attract world-class talent for critical roles at the Senior Director and VP levels.

Operating as one agile, collaborative team, we cover the global market end-to-end — from Korea to the U.S., India, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and beyond — ensuring Coupang secures the best leaders to shape its future.

 

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior or Principal Technical Executive Sourcer at Coupang, you’ll lead global efforts to source top-tier technical executives. You’ll own relationships with senior leaders, crafting innovative sourcing strategies to identify, engage, and convert world-class technical talent for critical leadership roles. This role demands expertise in executive search — from candidate identification and engagement to creative sourcing — while collaborating with a strong, established team of tech executive recruiters.

  • Partner with tech executive recruiters and hiring managers to design and execute sourcing strategies for future tech leaders at Coupang.
  • Source and engage executive-level candidates globally, converting prospects into active candidates. This includes, developing a robust, multi-channel, search strategy that will attract world class tech leaders.
  • Perform assessment/screening of the candidates holistically for qualifications, cultural fit, and leadership impact and presenting candidates to executive leadership.
  • Build trusted relationships with executive recruiters and senior stakeholders to drive alignment and results.
  • Provide consultative sourcing insights and develop robust talent pipelines. Serve as an expert for techn leadership recruiting. Thorough, continuous company and talent mapping in key tech areas for the company.
  • Build out talent networks in e-commerce and technology sectors and targetable industries/companies to develop an on-going pool of candidates.
  • Manage projects effectively, tracking milestones against data and adjusting plans to ensure success. Clearly communicate sourcing status and progress against open searches. Provide strategic guidance to executive leadership in matters related to top technical talent.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5~12 years in recruitment, including 2+ years in executive sourcing within a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Proven success sourcing and placing multiple Director-level and above technical leaders (e.g., product, engineering, UX design, data science/analytics) in technology, e-commerce, or high-growth, large-scale organizations.
  • Customer-focused, with strong ability to understand and meet stakeholder needs.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills; able to pitch Coupang’s vision, opportunities, and global lifestyle to executive-level candidates world-wide, while conducting in-depth screenings to assess candidate's fitment against specific roles and cultural fit. Native-level English fluency required.
  • Data-driven and tech-savvy, with hands-on expertise in AI sourcing tools and advanced Boolean search strategies.
  • Highly self-motivated, thriving in fast-paced, dynamic environments and working independently.
