Senior Workforce Case Advisor

We’re on the lookout for a diligent Senior Workforce Case Advisor, who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and play a critical role in delivering high-quality, strategic advice and support on complex employee relations matters across the organisation.

Operating within the Workforce Strategy team, this role is responsible for providing expert guidance and coaching to leaders and People & Culture colleagues on employee relations matters including performance, conduct, grievances, workplace investigations and dispute resolution.

The Senior Workforce Case Advisor manages sensitive and high-risk casework, supports case resolution capability across the business, and contributes to the continuous improvement of case management systems and practices to ensure fair, consistent and compliant outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate complex employee relations matters, including claims and advocacy in conciliation or mediation conferences before the Fair Work Commission.

  • Lead workplace investigations end-to-end, including preparing investigation documentation, reports and correspondence.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential case documentation, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and legislative requirements.

  • Provide tactical and operational employee relations advice on complex matters such as performance management, misconduct, employee complaints, change management and dispute resolution.

  • Interpret and provide guidance on relevant employment legislation, Modern Awards, enterprise agreements and employment contracts.

  • Coach and support leaders and People & Culture colleagues in managing employee relations issues and contribute to capability development initiatives.

  • Engage effectively with key stakeholders including leaders, unions, professional associations and regulatory bodies.

  • Participate in enterprise agreement negotiation workgroups and support preparation, consultation and approval processes where required.

  • Partner with Workforce Business Partnering, Workforce Compliance and other stakeholders to ensure effective case resolution.

  • Provide reporting, insights and trend analysis to support continuous improvement of employee relations practices and case management systems.

  • Take a leading role in specific projects or initiatives that support service delivery improvements within Workforce Strategy.

What you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field.

  • At least five years’ experience providing employee relations or human resources advisory services, including case management support to leaders and organisations.

  • Demonstrated experience leading workplace investigations from commencement through to resolution.

  • Experience advocating or supporting matters before the Fair Work Commission, including preparation of submissions.

  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial relations frameworks and workplace policies.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply enterprise agreements, awards and employment-related legislation.

  • Experience coaching and supporting leaders and HR professionals on employee relations matters.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage complex and sensitive matters.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.

  • High attention to detail, sound judgement and a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high-performing People & Culture team.
