About the Position:

The purpose of this role is to perform effective maintenance services under Annual Maintenance contract of Metro projects at Hitachi Rail and ensure System upkeep /availability for smooth Metro operations. Role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Metro environment. Position will be based on site locations near to Metro project and candidate should be open to move from one location / project to other based on business requirement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the execution of maintenance activities on site in accordance with the contractual KPIs
  • System expert level support to NMRC staff for routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • To conduct supervision of maintenance as per system checklist and troubleshoot during failure.
  • Coordinate with Telecom design team and product experts overseas to resolve critical issues and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • To conduct analysis of failures, prepare reports, routine business communications.
  • Download regular logs of switches and NMS, analyse and investigate error & warnings to fix the issues.
  • Verify network configuration, upload routine patches/updates and ensure smooth functioning of Fiber Optic Transmission Systems (FOTS).
  • Verify IP addresses with records and check FOTS alarms of warning according to periodic schedule.
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Follow safety precautions, work permit guidelines of Metro rail while working.
  • Ensure safety checks after completing the maintenance or troubleshooting.
  • Perform shift and emergency duties when required
  • This role requires 24x7 support to customers on a shift basis (telephonic support other than normal working hours) and hence night hours working sometimes.
  • Ensure monitoring of the day-to-day maintenance performance and provide technical reporting to the Client.
  • Ensure the availability of adequate stock and repair process activation

Key Experience Preferred:

  • Post qualification experience of at least 05 Years for Degree holder or 07 years Diploma holder in FOTS in Metro / Railways Signalling.
  • Excellent understanding of Fiber networks system used in Metro rail
  • Working experience on FOTS equipment such as switches, routers etc.
  • Working knowledge of power supply equipment and connectors used in fibre optic networks.
  • Working experience of large-scale communication networks and NMS system.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and efficient trouble shooting skills

Education/Qualifications Preferred:

  • Degree OR Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Science / Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
