Senior Visual Designer

The Senior Visual Designer plays a key role in elevating Manulife’s brand by creating visually compelling designs across digital experiences and communication materials. This role contributes directly to our mission of delivering user‑centered, intuitive, and impactful solutions that support business objectives and enhance overall customer and employee engagement. Position Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute diverse brand, marketing, and communication design projects from concept to final delivery across digital and print touchpoints.
  • Produce visually compelling assets including social media graphics, presentation decks, infographics, key visuals, marketing collateral, and email templates while ensuring strict adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Translate complex ideas and data into clear, engaging, visually impactful designs that support business, product, and communication objectives.
  • Drive UI/UX initiatives end to end—including user research, discovery sessions, journey mapping, stakeholder workshops, wireframing, prototyping, interface design, and iterative refinement.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including internal partners, developers, product stakeholders, and the broader Creative Team to align requirements and bring concepts to life.
  • Champion brand consistency and visual cohesion across all platforms while delivering innovative, user‑centered design solutions.
  • Provide creative leadership and mentorship to fellow designers, ensuring design excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of professional design experience in an in‑house creative team, marketing department, or design agency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Visual Communication, Human–Computer Interaction, or related creative discipline.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Keynote).
  • Hands-on experience across the full UI/UX design lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD, or similar UI/UX tools.
  • Strong foundation in layout composition, typography, color theory, and brand design systems.
  • Familiarity with responsive design principles, user‑centered methodologies, and accessibility best practices (a plus).
  • Exceptional visual storytelling skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and visual communication skills, able to articulate design decisions clearly to both creative and non‑creative stakeholders.
  • Amenable to a hybrid work arrangement (3 days RTO per week, 2 days work from home)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing multi-channel campaign materials for enterprise-level brands.
  • Background in developing cohesive visual systems for cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to facilitate creative workshops or design-thinking sessions.
  • Motion graphics experience or familiarity with animation tools.
  • Experience working within global or multicultural organizations.
