The SVP of Documentation Operations is responsible for the strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of SFG’s documentation operations, which include Lender Documentation, End User Documentation, and Vendor Finance Documentation teams. This role manages all three verticals, ensuring that preparation, processing, review, and management of documentation are executed to the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and customer service. The SVP will drive process improvements, risk mitigation, professional development, and operational excellence across the documentation organization while supporting divisional goals and broader SFG initiatives.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop documentation teams; provide oversight and drive performance standards.
  • Strategically supervise the preparation, processing, and review of documentation for debt placements, purchase/sale closings, lease and loan documentation, vendor finance programs, and more.
  • Ensure consistency in compliance with credit approval conditions, operational requirements, and applicable regulations across all processes.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration to foster meaningful growth, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement in documentation practices.
  • Oversee post-closing follow-up and ensure files are finalized, organized, and accessible, reflecting accuracy and completion.
  • Foster customer-centric processes to maintain exceptional service for internal and external partners, acting as a point of escalation.
  • Direct operational reviews—including documentation reviews, team audits, and compliance checks—identifying gaps and implementing enhancements.
  • Set meaningful goals, lead mentoring efforts, and review performance for documentation teams.
  • Support system and process upgrades (e.g., Aspire) to optimize documentation workflows and risk controls.
  • Maintain responsibility for personnel actions, including hiring, performance management, and terminations.
  • Collaborate with senior management, legal, and capital markets on new business, regulatory changes, and documentation best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to all required compliance, regulatory, and security standards.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/business or equivalent, and 10+ years’ experience within leasing, consumer, or commercial lending industry desired but not required.
  • Extensive supervisory/management experience leading multiple teams or departments, preferably in financial documentation.
  • Proven track record in strategic leadership, decision-making, and management of complex finance transactions and programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of lending, leasing, and mortgage documentation, industry practices, and systems (e.g., Aspire or other leasing specific software).
  • Superior organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to drive change and process improvements.
  • Strong communication and customer relationship skills, with ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of Aspire or other leasing specific software
  • Extensive Knowledge of leasing and/or mortgage industries preferred

  • Mentor, lead and train all support specialists and team leads
  • Responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lifts and carries up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequently sits, stands and walks.
