Job Title: Senior Vice President Data Operations

Business Unit: Blackstone Credit and Insurance

Job Summary:

Blackstone is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Governance professional to drive strategic data initiatives across our private credit, private real estate, and insurance verticals. In this pivotal role, you will ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance, enabling informed, data-driven decision-making at scale.

You will collaborate with technology, operations, and investment teams to implement best-in-class governance, reporting, and data management practices. Expertise in Data Quality Management and Reference Data Maintenance, covering term loans, bonds, equities, derivatives, and structured products—is essential. This is a unique opportunity to work within a high-performance, regulated environment and shape the future of data excellence at Blackstone.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead the design and execution of Blackstone’s Data Governance Framework, establishing enterprise-wide policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, aligning governance initiatives with business priorities and embedding innovative, technology-driven best practices.

Data Management & Quality:

  • Direct enterprise-wide data quality strategy, integrating corporate structure and ratings agency insights to enhance accuracy, transparency, and compliance.

  • Advance data lineage, metadata management, and cataloging processes while deploying advanced platforms to support governance and reference data for complex securities.

  • Oversee the design and implementation of data quality controls, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data across all business verticals.

  • Collaborate with technology teams to implement tools and platforms that support data governance and management.

  • Provide functional expertise in Data Quality Management, including reference data maintenance for securities such as term loans, bonds, equities, derivatives, and structured products.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Partner with investment, operations, compliance, legal, and risk teams to align governance with strategic objectives and meet regulatory requirements.

  • Lead stakeholder engagement, providing expert guidance and ensuring efficient execution of middle- and back-office operations.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Build and mentor a high-performing data governance team, fostering excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

  • Promote enterprise-wide data literacy, embedding a culture of integrity and accountability in data management.

Reporting & Insights:

  • Deliver strategic reports, dashboards, and KPIs to measure governance effectiveness and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Data Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 20+ years of leadership experience in data governance or data management, with a strong focus on private credit, private real estate, or insurance.

Technical Expertise:

  • Mastery of data governance frameworks, quality management, and modern platforms (Snowflake, Sigma, Alation).

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and leading market tools (Bloomberg, Markit, Reuters), with strong regulatory knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in private credit, private real estate, or insurance domains.

  • Deep understanding of credit asset management business model, investment strategies, and operational priorities.
