Job Description Summary
The Commercial & New Payment Flows (CNPF) organization drives innovative products and solutions for our customers, unlocking payment and data flows beyond consumer cards across key business areas covering Commercial and B2B, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Transfer Solutions. Products and solutions supported by the business include commercial cards, B2B, accounts payable and receivables, non-carded bill payments, and disbursements and remittances.
The Senior Vice President – CNPF Engineering Stability, Risk and Controls has overall responsibility for ensuring platform performance and proper risk & control oversight, in support of technology strategies that help shape and power the commercial payments landscape. The role reports to CNPF Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Responsibilities
Stability:
• Drives a common approach to building a culture and establishing practices that support highly available and scalable platforms
• Drives monitoring & alerting, CI/CD, testing frameworks, and developer enablement functions
• Working with Engineering teams, CNPF Architecture, Biz Ops, and ONE, drives critical platforms towards >99.99% availability
• Serves as a key coordination point with Business Operations on a unified approach to production management
• Responsible for technical infrastructure & frameworks and advancing developer productivity.
• Drives Site Reliability Engineering best practices
Tech Risk Management & Control - oversight of risk management and control items:
• Ensures a comprehensive identification, tracking, and resolution of all CNPF technology risks
• Ensure Risk and control items are addressed in a timely fashion and agreed with stakeholders (internal and external)
• Key face off to central Mastercard Product & Tech Risk functions
Leadership
• Develop strong internal executive-level partnerships to ensure cross-functional alignment and execute on shared initiatives
• Reinforces urgency and raises risk & control awareness across CNPF Engineering
• Lead by example to embed the Mastercard Way principles across the group

All About You
• Extended experience as a Site Reliability Engineering Leader or Technology Operations
• Practical experience with Technology audit and risk management practices
• Deep knowledge of the Payments industry
• Deep familiarity with microservices, event driven architecture, containerization, and commonly used design patterns for highly scaled and available transaction processing
• Deep familiarity with best practices in the technology operation to support heterogeneous processing environments including physical infrastructure, internal clouds / virtual servers, and third-party clouds
• Familiar with best practices in Identity and Access Management
• Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and escalation technologies
• Familiarity with problem solving methodologies (Failure Point Analysis)
• Executive level presentation skills

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
