Position Summary

The UNIX/Linux Engineer is responsible for providing 24/7 support for FAB production servers, including deployment, administration, and troubleshooting of Linux servers and appliances. This role requires collaboration with clients to offer technical guidance and expertise specific to projects. The engineer is accountable for the full asset life‑cycle, manage vendor communications for solutions and BOMs, and lead incident handling with root‑cause analysis and thorough documentation.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • 24/7 support FAB Production servers including on-call coverage rotation. Deployment, administration and troubleshooting of Linux Servers and Linux-based Appliances.

  • Ability to work with customers to review projects offering their internal support and expertise.

  • Asset Life-Cycle Ownership and Management of Server and Appliances. Providing recommendations and expertise during project planning periods.

  • Vendor communications to secure solutions for projects including Linux servers and Oracle Appliances including quoting and BOM support.

  • Incident management, communication and documentation through root cause identification internally and with vendor support.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • 5+ years of experience in UNIX/Linux Server administration with primary focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Oracle Enterprise Linux operating systems.

  • Bachelor of Science degree or better in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related.

  • Ability to work and adjust to fast-paced environment and communicate clearly (verbal and written) with peers, customers and vendors.

  • Provides support to customers running Linux on their application and database servers and in future planning.

  • Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.

The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
