The Opportunity    

The Senior Trademark Paralegal is a highly experienced individual contributor within the Trademark Group, responsible for independently managing complex trademark matters and larger portfolio initiatives on a global basis. This role requires proactive ownership of workload, disciplined prioritization across competing projects, and the ability to structure, track, and drive work through to timely and high‑quality completion. The Senior Trademark Paralegal adds value by anticipating needs, maintaining organized project plans, and ensuring trademark matters progress efficiently in alignment with business priorities.

What You’ll Work On 

  • Independently track trademark matters and larger portfolio projects from initiation through completion, proactively identifying risks, monitoring milestones and deadlines, and coordinating timely actions with the trademark counsel and stakeholders
  • Screen, search, and clear proposed trademarks, assess risk levels, and provide reasoned recommendations
  • Conduct U.S. and foreign trademark clearance searches, including online research and coordination with foreign agents and prepare clear, organized summary reports and draft global clearance opinions
  • File US trademarks and instruct the filing of trademark applications outside of the US and oversee outside counsel to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to timelines
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for trademark prosecution matters, independently resolving routine issues, escalating non‑routine matters as appropriate, and clearly relaying guidance to outside counsel
  • Support worldwide trademark conflicts in coordination with the trademark counsel and outside counsel (including oppositions, cancellations, infringements, UDRPs, and counterfeits)
  • Coordinate annual renewal activities for global trademark registrations for the assigned business unit and handle US renewals in house together with the trademark counsel of the business unit
  • Review trademark‑related invoices, approving or rejecting payment with appropriate explanation
  • Assist with trademark budget planning and cost management for the assigned business unit
  • Monitor outside docketing systems to ensure accurate docketing of all actions and deadlines

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6+ years of trademark paralegal experience
  • Extensive experience with U.S. and international trademark practices, including Madrid filings
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage large, active global trademark portfolios with a high degree of organization, accountability, and proactive planning
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to independently prioritize complex, high‑volume workloads
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining individual ownership of assigned matters

Other qualifications:

  • Ability to handle a portfolio of 5000+ active trademarks
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and disciplined follow‑through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear status updates and anticipate stakeholder needs

The base pay for this position is

$68,000.00 – $136,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
