Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Test & Validation Engineer to support our Product Safety, Certification, and Validation (PSCV) department to manage multiple engine programs within the Assembly and Test Engineering Organization. The selected candidate must possess sufficient depth and varied skills in validation programs, assembly and instrumentation techniques in jet engine development, industrial relations, and overall leadership skills to manage multiple engine builds under his/her span of control in a high-paced environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure assembly operations readiness and flawless execution of test vehicle Plan, builds, teardowns, and inspections.  
  • Interface with CIPTs (Component Integrated Product Teams) and Systems engineers to ensure assembly requirements are being met on time and within budget, interface with assembly support groups or DO groups (Assembly Operation, Process Engineering, Tooling Services, Magic Shop, Clean Line, and Inspection), and lead assembly process improvement teams.  
  • Focal point within Assembly Operations for all assigned programs. Current Test Engineers' activity includes Next Generation Product Family of engines for the BA, Neo, Embraer, and Irkut programs, as well as advanced engine programs, operational commercial engine programs, and operational military engine programs.
  • Travel Requirement: 25% (Domestic).

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience includes technical experience in testing and validation.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in leading validation engine projects and in guiding others.
  • Proven ability in leading major validation projects and leading process improvement projects. 
  • Proficient in the use of continuing improvement tools (ACE/CORE) to drive process improvements leading to increased customer satisfaction.
  • ACE Associate certification is preferred as well as working towards ACE/CORE Practitioner certification.
  • Familiarity with PC based system.
  • Experience in Team Center and SAP.

Product Safety, Certification, and Validation (PSCV): PSCV and Engineering Quality ensures flight safety and compliance by validating and certifying products, engineering processes, and services that meet regulatory, engineering, and customer requirements to safeguard our employees, customers, and the flying public.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
