Job description
Position: Senior – Garment Technologist
Position Type: Permanent
Experience: Up to 12 years of relevant experience in fabric
Location: Coimbatore
Skills: Responsible for translating design concepts into producible garments by creating and maintaining accurate tech packs, overseeing fit and construction during pre-production, and supporting factories to ensure consistent quality and on-time delivery.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain detailed tech packs (specs, measurements, construction notes, BOMs, trim lists, labels).
• Attend and lead fit sessions; document fit issues and recommended modifications; manage fit sign-off process.
• Create and review measurement charts, grading rules, and size specifications.
• Liaise with design, patternmakers, sourcing, and factory teams to resolve construction, material or fit problems.
• Approve samples (proto, fit, pre-production) and ensure samples meet design intent and quality standards.
• Support costing by providing construction and material input; suggest cost-effective construction alternatives when appropriate.
• Perform garment inspections and provide feedback for production troubleshooting and quality improvements.
• Maintain sample tracking, tech pack version control, and development timelines in PLM/ERP systems.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and relevant regulatory or safety requirements (trim/labeling).
Desired Candidate Profile
• Degree/Diploma in Garment Technology, Fashion Technology, Apparel Merchandising, or related field.
• Proficient in tech pack creation, PLM systems, and Excel.
• Experience in merchandising processes and supply chain timelines
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills
• Proven track record of driving supplier performance to meet business objectives
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other procurement software
• Candidates from Delhi-NCR will be preferred.
