Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:

  • Perform detailed failure analysis (FA) on semiconductor devices (ADI’s products) from internal and external customer requests that meet ADI's failure analysis cycle time and quality commitments.
  • Operate and maintain FA equipment including optical microscopy, X-ray, C-SAM, Curve Tracer, Decapsulation tools, Cross-sectioning tools, Mechanical sample preparation (grinding, polishing, cross-sectioning), SEM/EDX
  • Perform daily work on the Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
  • Work closely with FA engineers in collecting and analyzing data.
  • Create reports in PowerPoint, MS word, respond to e-mail inquiries when needed.
  • Use the FA database system to receive and complete FA cases.
  • Responsible for lab equipment for PM, calibration and stock control of consumable inventories.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Be aware of the company’s quality and environmental policies.
  • Mentor junior technicians, sharing best practices and technical expertise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High Diploma degree in electronics/electrical engineering.
  • With >5 years of experience in semiconductor failure analysis.
  • Experience using failure analysis equipment and tools (e.g., low/high optical microscope, solder/desoldering, reballing, SAM inspection, X-RAY inspection, curve tracer, fault isolation, SEM/EDX, polishing, lapping, cross-sectioning and relevant tools.
  • Familiar with decapsulation, wet/dry etching, de-processing, and the ability to work with chemicals for Physical FA.
  • Can work with chemicals with strict compliance to safety.
  • Able to work night and weekend shifts when assigned and work overtime if needed.
  • Basic PC skills (MS Windows OS and MS Office) are required.
  • Experience using ATE testers, handlers is a plus.
  • Fab and/or assembly process experience is a plus.
  • Able to communicate in English - interpreting technical documentation, collaborating with global teams, vendors and suppliers is a plus.
