What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a skilled Senior Technical Analyst – IBM i Platform to support the stability, security, and modernization of our mission-critical IBM i environment. This role is responsible for day-to-day System Administration, system health monitoring, security and compliance activities, and participation in platform upgrades and transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in Operational Excellence, ensuring high availability, performance, and risk mitigation across the IBM i systems, while collaborating closely with application teams, infrastructure partners, and vendors. This position is ideal for a proactive, independent, technically strong, and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a regulated, high-availability, collaborative enterprise environment.

What will you do?

  • Provide support for the IBM i environments, including system monitoring, job management, incident response, and complex problem resolution to ensure high availability and reliability
  • Perform day-to-day IBM i System Administration, including OS management, system configuration, capacity planning and performance tuning
  • Monitor system health, analyze trends, and proactively mitigate performance, availability, and capacity risks
  • Lead and support security compliance activities, including vulnerability remediation (CVE patching), audit evidence gathering, and security tool administration
  • Participate in IBM i OS upgrades, hardware refreshes, HMC updates, and broader platform modernization initiatives
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including replication, testing, and documentation
  • Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure partners, and vendors; maintain technical documentation; contribute to automation and operational efficiency initiatives; and provide mentorship as required

What do you need to succeed

Must Have:

  • 3-7 years of hands-on experience supporting IBM i environments, including OS administration, job scheduling, system monitoring, performance management, and troubleshooting complex production issues
  • Proven experience supporting high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, with the ability to ensure platform reliability, stability, and performance under pressure
  • Strong background in regulated environments, including vulnerability management, audit support, PTF management, OS upgrades and hardware lifecycle activities
  • Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive work to completion

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience working in large, matrixed corporate environments with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships
  • Familiarity with IBM i security, monitoring, and automation tools (e.g.: Performance Navigator, CART, Trinity Guard, Fortra Monitoring Suite), along with exposure to HMC and Power Systems environments
  • Knowledge of performance analysis, capacity planning, and experience supporting security audit, compliance initiatives, and financial services regulatory requirements
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to influence decision makers, familiarity with ITIL or structured operational frameworks, and scripting knowledge to support automation and efficiency
