Mongodb

Senior Technical Program Manager

Bengaluru; Gurugram Full Time

MongoDB is growing and gaining adoption rapidly across the globe with the most demanding and innovative companies and development teams in enterprise software.

Application Modernization Platform (“AMP”) is a MongoDB offering that modernizes our customers’ legacy relational applications to a modern architecture, platform, and stack underpinned by MongoDB using a combination of software, processes, and engineers. In this offering, the people and software are inextricably linked and cannot be separated. AMP delivery teams consist of application delivery engineers and a project manager who work onsite with the customer to modernize one or more of the customer’s applications in an accelerated timeframe. Our delivery teams leverage a mix of AI and deterministic custom tooling to expedite application delivery.

MongoDB has various AMP delivery teams globally, supported by a small, central, non-customer-facing unit: the AMP Delivery Excellence team. This team elevates delivery effectiveness by developing and implementing the Application Transformation Framework (ATF), MongoDB's standardized process for modernizing applications. The team also creates tools to systematically track project delivery effectiveness, pinpointing inefficiencies that then drive product engineering and process improvements. Utilizing this data, the team collaborates with MongoDB’s internal Product Engineering team to shape the AMP product roadmap based on identified needs. Furthermore, the team uses AI to develop and evolve simulation applications that mimic common customer modernization challenges, helping to clearly identify product gaps and test the new features implemented by the Product Engineering team to address them. The team will also develop and evolve reusable developer tools for delivery engineers to use on customer projects to speed up the implementation of everyday project application transformation tasks.

As a critical member of the AMP Delivery Excellence team, the Senior Technical Program Manager will own and drive the team's operating rhythm, manage core programs, and ensure the successful execution of the team's strategic initiatives, collaborating closely with Modernization Engineers in the team and the Practice Lead. This role is pivotal in orchestrating the team's efforts to enhance delivery effectiveness across the entire AMP practice.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Bengaluru or Gurgaon for our hybrid working model., and you will often be collaborating with stakeholders in other regions and time zones.

Position Expectations

Establish and lead recurring status and governance meetings, preparing materials to review program information with key internal stakeholders, ensuring clear visibility, accountability, and alignment
  • Manage Program Reporting. Periodically report on program status in a concise and actionable manner, documenting progress as per established best practices (e.g., meeting minutes, plan updates, status reports) to maintain stakeholder alignment
  • Drive Program Execution. Be self-sufficient and proactive in a small, dynamic team, taking full ownership and accountability to drive program deliverables from inception to completion, including running Agile sprints for development of software and other assets that aid the team’s mission
  • Manage Enablement Program Rollout. Coordinate the end-to-end logistics and execution of enablement courses (in-person and virtual), including scheduling, resource planning, and managing the verification/assessment tracking process
  • Oversee Delivery Metrics & Telemetry. Drive the process for defining, collecting, and reporting on key delivery effectiveness metrics, liaising with field-facing project managers to ensure timely and accurate data capture for internal analysis
  • Manage Enhancement Request Process. Closely collaborate and partner with the Technical Program Manager (TPM) in MongoDB’s Product & Technology (P&T), to administer the registry of evidence-based product enhancement requests, using tools like JIRA to manage the backlog, track status, and facilitate joint prioritization activities
  • Administer ATF Knowledge Base. Own the administration of the internal Application Transformation Framework (ATF) website, ensuring all process maps, artifacts, and tooling documentation are kept up-to-date as the single source of truth
  • Manage Stakeholder Communications. Own and execute the team's communication plan, including publishing internal updates (e.g., 'AMP Delivery Digest'), managing internal help channels, and organizing community calls
