What is the opportunity?
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Onboarding Team is looking for a Senior Technical Manager, IAM Onboarding to assume a leadership position and work towards onboarding applications to RBC’s Customer Identity Access Management (CIAM) service (Okta) in accordance with the IAM onboarding strategy and IAM goals.
This role will require you to work with a wide range of technology and business stakeholders to implement IAM solutions. You will identify business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals and meet sponsor/stakeholder needs.
We are looking for an ambitious, adaptable, and proactive individual with knowledge in the IAM and cloud computing space, who challenges the status quo, is constantly thinking about flexibility, robustness, and simplicity in everything we do.
What will you do?
Meet with application development teams to understand their authentication requirements and SSO integration needs
Review application architecture and deployment environments to assess CIAM (Okta) compatibility
Work with business partners and application teams to ensure successful end-to-end onboarding for the CIAM services.
Document application onboarding requirements and map them to RBC's approved authentication architectural patterns
Guide application teams through SSO configuration and deployment processes
Validate that authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth) are correctly implemented within applications
Analyze security risks related to authentication implementation and report findings to stakeholders
Ensure all onboarding solutions leverage Okta (CIS), Auth0 (CIC), or Azure AD appropriately
Provide consultative recommendations on authentication design patterns based on application requirements
Document architectural decisions and authentication flows for audit and compliance purposes
Participate in all aspects of onboarding as requested by the onboarding team: This may include:
Review, analyze, and define onboarding requirements as well as contribute to the technical development specifications.
Mapping requirements to approved architectural patterns and designs.
Ensuring all the supporting evidence, sign-offs are documented and stored for Audit purposes.
Identify and implement solutions to improve the efficiency of the onboarding process.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
5+ years of experience in a similar role, with strong technical knowledge of standard SSO deployment practices and patterns
Application development background is essential – must understand how applications integrate with identity platforms
Proven experience deploying and configuring SSO (Single Sign-On) for application environments
Strong understanding of authentication protocols (SAML, OAUTH) and experience working with SaaS products like CIS (Okta) and CIC(Auth0) and Azure AD
Knowledge of architectural patterns relevant to enterprise CIAM service
Ability to bridge application development teams and enterprise IAM requirements
Understanding of application lifecycle and deployment processes relevant to CIAM integration
Proficient technical experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, etc.) and Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence).
Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience presenting to a wide variety of audience sizes.
Nice-to-have
Data analysis and reporting skills.
Experience with one or more of IAM capabilities & tools (SailPoint, CyberArk/PAM, GDS etc).
Professional certification(s) related to information security or information risk management such as CRISC, CISA, CISM, CISSP
