About this opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior MFA Technical Application Specialist to join the Chief Security Office (CSO) Identity & Access Management function.
This is a senior, hands‑on technical specialist role responsible for the engineering, configuration, onboarding, and operational support of Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions across Lloyds Banking Group. You’ll shape how authentication controls are designed, implemented, and operated across a complex, regulated estate, influencing security outcomes at enterprise scale.
This role ensures MFA controls are secure, resilient, compliant, and scalable, supporting both human and non‑human identities, while enabling safe adoption across business and technology teams. The role also acts as a technical authority for MFA integrations, balancing security, user experience, and regulatory expectations.
What you’ll be doing
Act as a technical authority and subject‑matter expert for MFA and enterprise authentication controls
Lead the design, delivery, and assurance of complex MFA integrations across cloud, SaaS, on‑premise, and legacy platforms
Define and own enterprise MFA patterns, standards, and guardrails, ensuring secure and consistent adoption
Review and challenge authentication designs to prevent insecure or non‑compliant implementations
Provide senior technical leadership during platform migrations, strategic change, and decommissioning of legacy authentication solutions
Act as an escalation point for high‑impact or complex MFA incidents, ensuring swift resolution and reduced risk
Drive operational resilience, availability, and recoverability of MFA services
Support audit, risk, and regulatory activity with credible technical insight and evidence
Partner with architects, product owners, engineers, and security leadership to influence outcomes without formal authority
Mentor engineers and specialists, raising capability and maturity across the IAM and security community
Contribute to MFA strategy, roadmap development, and continuous improvement initiatives

Deep, hands‑on expertise delivering enterprise‑scale MFA solutions
Strong understanding of authentication and identity protocols (e.g. SAML, OIDC, OAuth2, Radius)
Proven experience integrating authentication controls across large, complex, and regulated environments
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capability across identity, application, and infrastructure layers
Ability to operate credibly across strategy, design, delivery, and operational support
And any experience of these would be great

Understanding of non‑human identities, APIs, or workload authentication patterns
Experience contributing to enterprise security standards or control frameworks
