HP’s Global Tax organization has an opening for a Senior Tax Analyst to support the Global Income Tax Accounting team, which is based in the United States. This role will be located in Bangalore, India and will work closely with the U.S.-based team to support the consolidation and reporting of HP’s global income tax provision.

The Tax Analyst will play a key role in the preparation and analysis of legal entity income tax provisions across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on non-US operations and the interaction with the U.S. tax provision. This position will support the quarterly close process, including preparation of return-to-provision adjustments, deferred taxes, and effective tax rate calculations under U.S. GAAP.

This role offers broad exposure to complex international tax structures, cross-border tax impacts, and evolving global tax regulations. The position reports to the Global Income Tax Accounting Director and will support various tax accounting projects and initiatives.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, execution-focused, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Detail review quarterly non-U.S. legal entity income tax provisions
  • Partner with non-U.S. tax teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and ensure accurate reporting
  • Support quarterly non-U.S. tax provision process, including return-to-provision adjustments, deferred tax calculations, and current tax accruals
  • Detail review non-U.S. legal entity income tax payable rollforwards
  • Assist in the preparation of the consolidated mix of earnings (“MOE”) / non-U.S. income tax provision consolidation and related analytics
  • Prepare workpapers and support documentation for internal and external audits, including SOX controls
  • Coordinate with external advisors, controllers, and Tax CoE on non-US provision calculations and local country matters
  • Monitor and summarize international tax law changes and assess potential impacts on the provision
  • Contribute to process improvements and support tax technology initiatives (e.g., provision systems, data automation)

Education and Experience Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience with ASC 740 / income tax provision
  • Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • 10+ years

Knowledge and Skills

  • Foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP income tax accounting (ASC 740)
  • Exposure to international tax concepts (e.g., foreign subsidiaries, cross-border transactions)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams
  • Experience with tax provision software (e.g., OneSource Tax Provision) and/or data tools is a plus
