Position Summary

We’re currently looking for a Senior Analyst, Audit to join our team in Nashville, TN.

This role will lead assigned operating tax audits, including recommending changes to and implementing defense strategies and ensure timely compliance with tax controversy timelines by responding to tax authority requests. Lead the review of tax reporting documentation efforts for assigned jurisdictions to ensure contemporaneous, audit ready documentation to support tax positions.

*** This role is a HYBRID position in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday @ Bridgestone HQ in Nashville, TN. ***

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation and review of the transaction tax uncertain tax position schedules used to support the business closing process

  • Collaborate with Tax COEs and Finance teams to ensure uncertain tax positions are identified and the accounting treatment for each tax position is properly coordinated

  • Identify, research, and implement strategies and apply tax law to address risks and opportunities during the examination process. Effectively communicate and share information with tax leadership and the tax authority examination team to eliminate or mitigate risk.

  • Lead the transaction tax audit process by providing concise and strategically aligned responses to tax authority information requests in a timely manner. Resolve issues to avoid unnecessary appeals.

  • Serve as the operating tax subject matter expert for assigned tax jurisdictions and businesses.

  • Prepare reconciliation of tax accrual accounts; filed returns to audit adjustments, including explanations, to facilitate updates to the tax engine.

  • Understand and comply with tax regulations, SOX/JSOX regulations, internal controls, and tax policies.

  • Lead internal and or manage external reverse audit projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required; CPA/MST preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in operating taxes in a large multinational corporation or public accounting firm.

  • State and local transaction tax audit experience (2 years).

  • Experience with processes across a large organization is preferred.

  • Experience with Excel, OneSource, and SAP is preferred.
