  • Raytheon, an RTX business, is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our systems engineering team. Our Engineers support technical direction and design development for agile software development teams, and other Engineering personnel.

  • They perform technical analyses and define how the system works creating use cases, system capability, and feature designs, defining system interfaces and acceptance criteria.

  • In this role, the candidate will provide engineering support for the implementation of a portion of the program’s systems engineering. To succeed in this role, you must have systems engineering development lifecycle experience using an Agile methodology.

  • The position is full-time, on-site in Richardson TX.

 

 What You Will Do

  • In this role, the candidate will provide engineering support for the implementation of a portion of the program’s systems engineering.

  • To succeed in this role, you must have systems engineering development lifecycle experience using an Agile methodology.

  • Collaborate with the multi discipline engineering teams to design and develop software  

  • Assist in providing technical information and clarification during the entire software development Lifecyle, from conceptualization and design to development, testing, deployment, and operations

  • Perform solution decomposition from customer requirements, to capabilities, to features, to stories according utilizing SAFe Agile practices

  • Apply systems engineering expertise to feature designs to reduce overall risk to the software development effort

  • Engage with multidiscipline SMEs to fully understand the solution and document the designs

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations; or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.

  • Experience in system engineering and technical experience with software systems development utilizing the full systems engineering lifecycle.

  • Experience to create designs for various parts of the system to include functional descriptions, interfaces, architecture diagrams, and acceptance criteria.

  • Experience in agile software development activities, including system level design specification and integration test and verification activities (full SE life cycle).

  • Experience in the IC community, including engineering work in software development.

  • Experience in the development revisions of existing ICDs, APIs, and system specifications in response to customer changes and requests

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in cloud or cloud-hybrid development and deployment environments

  • Experience working in the IC domain utilizing releasability standards

  • Experience supporting technical exchange meetings and design briefings

  • Experience working in the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodology that ensures high quality software is built and released to end-users quickly

  • Experience using MBSE processes and tools to capture systems design and elaboration in Cameo or similar tool

  • Experience in a Product Owner role as part of an Agile software development team

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
