Senior Systems Engineer (all genders)
Network & Network Security

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available network infrastructures
- Evaluate and select network hardware and software based on business requirements
- Create network architectures ensuring fault tolerance and high availability
- Implement network solutions including device configuration, cabling, and integration into existing environments
- Conduct testing to validate functionality, performance, and security of implemented solutions
- Monitor network performance and security using appropriate tools and dashboards
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues to minimize downtime and service disruption
- Perform regular security reviews, audits, and risk assessments
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks for routine network administration tasks
- Utilize automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for infrastructure management
- Identify opportunities for process automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of network topologies, configurations, and infrastructure changes
- Develop operational and support documentation for internal teams
- Collaborate closely with internal IT teams to ensure smooth implementation and operation of network solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent qualification
- Several years of professional experience in network engineering and network security
- Strong hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network security implementations
- Experience with AlgoSec Firewall Management tool is ideal
- Deep understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and PKI
- Knowledge of encryption technologies and cryptographic principles
- Experience with cloud security concepts and cloud-based infrastructure environments
- Proficiency in scripting/automation languages for infrastructure and task automation
- Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessments is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and implement mitigation measures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus
