OVERVIEW:
Alberta Blue Cross® is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst (Oracle Forms and Reports) for a 12-month contract term to assist with the design, development and implementation of complex and integrated solutions for multiple projects. The Systems analyst will also be responsible for providing technical leadership and analysis leadership in supporting project teams.
In this hybrid role, you will be required to work in either our Edmonton and or Calgary office one day per week.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Work collaboratively with multiple teams across the organization.
Communicate effectively with your team, team manager and business customers.
Contribute and be accountable to your development activities and workload management.
Produce and maintain program code (mostly PL/SQL), Oracle Forms/Reports and documentation.
Understand, design, build and test change requests as per demands of the projects and releases.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Assess the root cause of issues and recommend changes.
Perform unit and integration testing with both IT and business customers as required. Provide support during various phases of testing.
Prepare documentation and instructions for the execution of application programs.
Reviews requirements with the users and provides time estimates for task completion.
Work as part of a project team as required.
Follow IT Controls practices (e.g., IT Governance, Data Privacy) to ensure quality output.
Follow Systems Development Life Cycle best practices.
Continual learning and understanding of the application environment, interdependencies, and integrations with other systems.
Could include data management activities such as designing and building data interfaces and extracts, forms, and reports, and designing logical and physical data models.
As Senior SA, provide expertise with respect code quality, security, deployment and code management.
Display certainty in one’s ability to make decisions and perform difficult job tasks and self-assurance in all work relationships.
You will participate in project estimation, provide inputs for solution delivery, conduct technical risk planning, perform code reviews and unit test plan reviews.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
Ten or more years of progressive experience developing and designing implementations with small to large scale applications with proficiency in Oracle Forms (10g/12c), Oracle Reports, PL/SQL, and SQL.
Extensive experience creating Oracle applications using Oracle forms and Reports.
Established Proven ability to work using tools like SQL Developer, TOAD, GitLab.
Experience with Delivery management tools like ALM, Service Now and Jira is highly preferred.
Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated technical leadership on projects/large initiatives in a highly complex and integrated application architecture would be highly beneficial.
Completion of Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate would be considered an asset.
Experience with services and integration of Mid-Tier applications with Oracle databases.
Demonstrated skills in performance Tuning and optimizing Forms Performance, SQL, PL/SQL code to reduce execution time or improve efficiency.
Relevant experience in Implementation, Development projects related to Oracle PL/SQL based Enterprise Applications.
Strong knowledge in complex queries and sub queries is a must.
Strong experience with Oracle functions, procedures, triggers, packages & performance tuning.
Knowledge in UNIX & Shell Scripting.
Familiarity with RESTful web services and API integration.
Good understanding of Agile development methodology would be an asset.
Experience with developing Oracle Reports and tuning reports would be highly beneficial.
Experience following a full lifecycle SDLC process, including creating technical designs, build and unit testing for sophisticated requirements.
Developed Advanced PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, functions, cursors and collections to implement business logic using SQL developer.
