Senior Support Worker
Location: Livingston
Contract: Permanent / Part Time - 16hrs a week.
Pay Rate: £13.44 an hour
This is not a 9-5 role; flexibility however will work both ways.

About the Role:
A Senior Support Worker at Mears plays a key role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals, helping them to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety and wellbeing. They support and mentor care teams, oversee day-to-day service delivery, and act as a point of contact for both clients and their families. The role often includes developing personalised care plans, monitoring outcomes, handling more complex needs, and ensuring compliance with company policies and care standards. Senior Support Workers also contribute to staff training, supervision, and fostering a positive, person-centred culture within their service.
To ensure the care team understands the importance of their actions
To carry out spot checks and observations
To attend Social Worker meetings
To carry out Audits
To monitor high standards of work performance in Service Users home.
To maintain confidentiality throughout the service according to legal requirements.
To report promptly any concerns, complaints or grievances to their line manager / Registered Manager.
To have an active awareness of personal responsibilities and accountability for helping to ensure that a safe working environment is maintained in accordance with legislation.
To participate in the on-call rota as required.
To participate in emergency and holiday cover when required.
To report to Line Manager the progress of individuals, incidents that have occurred and general observations where necessary and at team meetings.
Key Criteria
Previous experience within the care sector is essential for this role.
Driving licence and access to own vehicle
The ability to be flexible with their working hours.
It would be advantageous to hold an SVQ Level 2 qualification or above but this is not essential as all training will be given.
