Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and elevating the quality of our products and supplier processes. You will be at the forefront of our efforts, providing expertise and guidance from program proposal through design, manufacturing, and even supporting fielded aircraft and sustainment efforts.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of Supplier Quality for direct programs, with support from our corporate office for initial supplier qualification. Your responsibilities will include:
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure supplier quality requirements are met from the proposal stage through to product delivery and field support.
    • Leading supplier quality activities, including auditing, monitoring, and performance evaluation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Developing and implementing supplier quality assurance strategies and processes, including standardized quality acceptance criteria for supplier products and components.
    • Providing technical guidance and support in the design, testing, and validation of supplier processes, mechanisms, and equipment to ensure they meet our stringent quality standards.
    • Writing and maintaining inspection procedures, reviewing and evaluating in-process rejections, obtaining dispositions, and implementing corrective actions as needed to resolve supplier-related quality issues.
    • Conducting detailed reviews and approvals of highly technical and comprehensive supplier quality documents, including First Article Inspections (FAI), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans.
    • Utilizing statistical analysis and other control/risk mitigation techniques to develop and refine new evaluation and control processes for supplier quality management.
    • Participating in supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with contractual, regulatory, and internal requirements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
    • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
    • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Experience in supplier quality engineering within the aerospace, aviation, and/or defense industries.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing and inspection
  • The following ASQ Certifications:
    • CQA Certified Quality Auditor
    • CQE Certified Quality Engineer
    • CSQP Certified Supplier Quality Professional
    • CSSBB Certified Six Sigma Black Belt

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $113,428.57 - $155,964.28. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
