The (Senior) Strategy Manager will work alongside with Strategy Planning teams to translate online consumer panel and multi source research into sharp consumer and industry insights, and insights-led communication and media strategy. Provide day to day strategic support, pitch and award writing, and client-facing storytelling in Chinese and English.

Key responsibilities

  • Support Strategy Director on daily strategy, briefs and client discussions.

  • Produce consumer insight from Online Consumer Panels and integrate data from NBS / QuestMobile / iResearch and other tools/platforms.

  • Visualize data and tell a clear consumer or industry story (business‑level PPTs, dashboards).

  • Support pitch workstreams (ground study and insight generation).

  • Draft award entries and coordinate case materials.

  • Work closely with Impact, Creative, SP and Ecosystem teams.

  • Drive adoption of planning tools (dentsu Connect) and shared templates.

Must‑have skills

  • 4+ years in strategy/media planning

  • Strong panel & multi‑source research skills; advanced Excel (data cleaning, pivot, modelling…etc).

  • Good storytelling and business‑level PPT creation in Chinese & English; fluent presentation skills.

  • Familiarity with Douyin, RED, WeChat ecosystems (practical experience or certifications preferred).

  • Able to use BI/visualization tools

  • Able to craft effective prompts and use generative AI to run initial research, generate hypotheses, draft summaries and accelerate insight work.

KPIs (high level)

  • Strategy Lead & client satisfaction with deliverables.

  • Pitch contribution and new‑business impact.

  • Quality and adoption of strategic frameworks, visualizations and tool usage.

  • Award entries submitted / shortlisted.

 

90 / 180 / 365 day targets

  • 90 days: independently produce insight + 1 client deliverable; build stakeholder relationships.

  • 180 days: core day‑to‑day partner on multiple accounts; Supporting role in ≥5 pitches.

  • 365 days: manage daily strategy for core accounts with minimal supervision; contribute a case or thought leadership.

Assessment

  • Case walkthrough: candidate presents a past pitch/campaign and outcomes.

  • Short all‑English presentation to confirm business English fluency.
