The Opportunity

We're looking for motivated individuals to join us as Senior Strategy Consultants. You'll bring a blend of strategic thinking, sharp analysis, and excellent communication skills to guide clients through their toughest business challenges.

In this senior role, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership to drive profitable growth in business areas.
  • Lead and support internal consulting projects focused on strategy development, growth, organizational design, and business transformation.
  • Play a key role in developing and communicating our plan.
  • Build relationships with leaders and partners across the organization to influence and align actions.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, and Charlotte, NC.

What you'll do:

  • Support the development of long-term vision and direction: Support the creation and communication of a clear vision for the organization’s future growth and success. This may involve facilitating market research and analysis, identifying key trends and opportunities, and recommending strategic goals and objectives.
  • Conduct internal consulting projects: Identify and frame strategic opportunities and issues faced by the organization. Draft project proposals, design work plans, and conduct or oversee key pieces of analysis to deliver strategic insights and recommendations. Create compelling storylines that clearly articulate findings, insights, and recommendations. Influence and drive stakeholder alignment and execution.
  • Monitor and assess external trends: Conduct or oversee industry and competitive research to identify potential strategic opportunities and threats. Communicate insights and recommendations to leadership, facilitating alignment on responsive actions to be taken.
  • Support strategic planning: Support the development and communication of the organization’s plan.
  • Communicate and align strategy: Support the effective communication of the organization’s strategy to senior management, employees, and other stakeholders to ensure that all levels of the organization are aligned with and working towards the same goals. Support the design, development, and facilitation of strategy offsites.
  • Monitor and report on progress: Monitor the progress of the organization’s strategic initiatives and report on results to senior management and other stakeholders. Recommend adjustments to the strategy as needed based on changing market conditions or other factors.
  • Mentor and develop teammates: Support the development and coaching of junior teammates.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Engineering or Science discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years of strategy consulting, corporate or business unit strategy or relevant work experience; or an Advanced Degree in Business or STEM and 4 years of strategy consulting, corporate or business unit strategy or relevant work experience. Military experience may be considered relevant experience for this role.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and provide clear, actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Skilled in analyzing data to draw conclusions and inform strategic decisions.
  • Proven track record in project management.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and written and oral communication skills.

What sets you apart:

  • Military veterans are encouraged to apply; your leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability skills are highly valued.
  • Experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance, life insurance, or retail banking is helpful, but not required
  • An MBA from a top business school is preferred; advanced degrees or equivalent experience and a strong academic record are also valued.
  • Professional experience, including consulting internships, is desirable; prior strategic planning, business development, or project management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to perform well in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and manage multiple demands.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $114,080- $218,030.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
