Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

Summary

The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager plays a critical role in advancing Athens Services’ Procurement & Supply Chain (P&SC) organization. Reporting to a Senior Manager of Procurement, this role leads all category strategy development, sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and purchasing actions for a host of assigned spend categories. In support of the company’s Procurement Transformation (PTx), this role is responsible for identifying and capturing cost savings, while improving supplier performance, on behalf of Athens’ spending departments.

This role manages high-value sourcing initiatives and partners closely with its supported spending departments, including Operations, Fleet, IT, HR, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Experience. The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the management of virtually all of their assigned third-party spend, including finding and capturing spend reduction, elimination, or avoidance via a comprehensive set of actions, like running RFPs, negotiating with suppliers, managing product usage, and other sourcing best practices. This is a highly-empowered sourcing leadership role, and is designed to be performed with a high degree of independence.

Job Description

Category Strategy & Sourcing

• Develop and execute multi-year strategic sourcing plans for assigned spend categories.
• Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify cost savings opportunities, discover and recruit new suppliers, and extract innovative ideas from the supply base.
• Lead competitive sourcing processes including RFPs, supplier negotiations, award decision making, contracting, and purchasing.

Supplier Management

• Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance metrics.
• Negotiate pricing, service levels, and contract terms with key vendors.
• Ensure supplier performance aligns with company expectations for quality, service, and cost.

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Partner with internal stakeholders including Operations, Fleet, IT, Finance, HR, and Legal to understand business needs and translate them into sourcing strategies.
• Quarterback our Joint RFP teams to led cross-functional decision making and spend implementation.
• Support company-wide procurement initiatives and policy development.

Procurement Operations & Governance

• Ensure sourcing activities align with procurement policies and compliance requirements.
• Utilize procurement analytics and reporting tools to monitor category performance and savings.
• Support implementation of Source-to-Pay processes and procurement technology.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or category management.
• Proven experience leading supplier negotiations and sourcing initiatives.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement or ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or PMP.
• Experience in waste management, logistics, utilities, manufacturing, or industrial services industries.
• Experience working in enterprise procurement or strategic sourcing organizations.

Salary: $120,000-160,000
