Meet the team:

You will be part of the Global Engineering team within Operations, tasked with end-to-end technical oversight of our manufacturing technologies spanning our suppliers, contract manufactures, automation houses, and internal manufacturing.  Including providing technical support for on-market production at our manufacturing sites. You will bring your expertise and passion for the development, qualification, validation and change management of complex manufacturing automation equipment, working closely in cross-functional teams to integrate cutting-edge technology into our manufacturing processes.  You will ensure high efficiency, precision, and quality in Operations. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust new product introduction, capacity expansion, and sustained on-market performance.

This crucial role supports Dexcom's thrilling growth trajectory in delivering essential, life-changing products to our valued customers. As part of this dynamic and highly effective team, you will collaborate closely across multiple functions, gaining broad exposure to our entire product life cycle.

Where you come in:

  • You are the main Metrology technical leader working with Design Engineering, Operations and Quality to actively develop new manufacturing process inspections, and inspection equipment in a regulated environment in compliance to ISO standards. 

  • You will be designing test setups for scaling and production level test procedures for various NPI transfer programs. 

  • You will define, design, develop metrology solutions including hardware engineering, test software implementation, and instrument qualification. Oversee contract metrology labs who perform measurements on behalf of internal and external partners. Be responsible for understanding equipment, test procedure, and site to site biases.

  • You will collect and perform statistical analysis on metrology data to correlate to performance metrics. 

  • You will participate in the manufacturing process and equipment qualification validation plans, validation protocols and reports, and their implementation where your test procedures will be utilized. 

  • You will develop instrument level alignment, compensation, and measurement performance tests. 

  • You will explore novel optical metrology technologies and work with suppliers on prototype development. 

  • You will provide guidance and training to test lab associates, plant operators, and engineers on test methods and corresponding results analysis.

  • You will identify appropriate analytical tools and equipment required to meet goals from concept to implementation.

What makes you successful:

  • You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • You bring previous experience in developing metrology for High-Volume manufacturing for a medical device company 

  • You are excellent at communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills. Able to organize and prioritize assignments providing direction to and participation in assigned functional teams.

  • You have a strong background in product design lifecycle and overall product technical transfer to manufacturing including in process and bench test methods.

  • You have a proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

  • You are detailed oriented with strong time management skills.

  • You are able to coach and mentor younger engineers and scientists in test method development and execution.

Education and Experience:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 13+ years related experience or a Master’s degree and 8+ years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 5+ years of  experience.

Travel Required:

  • 5-15%

Salary:

$149,000.00 - $248,300.00
