The Role: Senior Specialist, Trade Compliance
The Trade Compliance Specialist will support the Entegris Trade Compliance Program by coordinating import and export compliance activities, performing audits, training and record keeping, as well as by providing guidance and recommendations to compliance related issue to mitigate risks. This position is based in the Entegris South Korea (Suwon) office, reporting to the Asia Trade Compliance Manager. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for South Korea and Taiwan compliance activities.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensure daily import and export operations or activities are executed in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and requirements (especially the US, South Korea and Taiwan export control requirements).
Screening of customer to ensure legitimate end user and end uses.
Evaluate products for US, South Korea and Taiwan export control requirements. Support license management including license application, license tracking and record keeping,
Determine and maintain tariff classification (HS Code) and ECCN in SAP, drive process improvement to ensure accuracy.
Monitor and review/release control blocks in SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) for Asia.
Monitor and evaluate imports that can qualify for FTA duties exemption.
Respond to ad hoc trade compliance related requests and issues, and develop, implement and maintain a standard procedure to ensure future compliance.
Stay up to date on regulation developments, understands the regulatory requirements and assess the actions/changes required to keep compliance.
Manage and improve company CP (Compliance Program) by conducting compliance trainings, conducting internal audit, maintaining essential record keeping, and other compliance related activities.
Facilitate external audit when required.
Support other projects as required and assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Training, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Physical Requirements):
5 or more years work experience in international trade compliance related field or a bachelor’s degree in trade or international business
Knowledge of South Korea export licensing programs. Familiarity with Taiwan or regional export licensing program is a plus.
Experience with SAP & GTS
Strong project management skills and the ability to cope with multiple priorities.
Enthusiastic, self-motived and responsible
Must be proficient in the local language and English. Chinese language proficiency is a plus. Solid presentation, communications and influencing skills, able to work with other countries and cultures.
