Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Senior Payroll Specialist to manage and execute all aspects of our complex bi-weekly payroll operations for our US and Canadian manufacturing divisions. This is a fully remote position. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the ADP Workforce Now and ADP eTime platforms and demonstrate deep expertise in processing multi-state US payrolls, Canadian payroll compliance, and managing timekeeping records for a large, non-exempt, hourly workforce across various shift schedules.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Accurately and timely process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1300 US and Canadian employees using ADP Workforce Now.
Multi-State & Multi-Jurisdiction Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, provincial (e.g., Ontario, Quebec), and local payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws (FLSA in the US, Employment Standards in Canada), and reporting requirements.
Manufacturing/Non-Exempt Focus: Manage payroll calculations specifically for a non-exempt, hourly manufacturing population, including accurate handling of regular hours, overtime (OT1/OT2), double-time, and shift differentials.
Data Integrity & Reconciliation: Perform comprehensive payroll reconciliations (quarterly and annually), and assist with internal and external audits, including Year-End processes (W-2s, T4s, RL-1s).
Garnishments & Deductions: Administer and process all payroll deductions, including benefits premiums, 401(k) contributions/pension plans, and mandated wage garnishments/support orders.
Issue Resolution: Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and timekeeping, providing excellent remote customer service.
Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process efficiencies and improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and streamline operations within the ADP ecosystem.
Minimum Qualifications
Industry Experience: Proven experience managing payroll for a high-volume, non-exempt (hourly) workforce, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Geographic Scope: Must have experience processing multi-state payroll in the US and experience with Canadian payroll compliance (CPP, EI, tax reporting, T4s)
Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion in a remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on, end-to-end payroll processing experience required.
Software Proficiency: Mandatory strong proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and ADP eTime (full cycle processing, reporting, and maintenance).
Skills: Expertise in calculating and auditing shift differentials, various overtime rules, and complex pay structures.

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $70,000.00 - $111,250.00 per year. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
