Salary range (but not limited to):

138,500 - 169,300

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Specialist, Specialty Solutions (Equipment Breakdown), to join our Corporate Specialty Solutions team!

As a Senior Specialist on the national Specialty Solutions Corporate Property team, you will be responsible for supporting a number of Distribution teams focusing on Equipment Breakdown.  Key accountabilities for your role will include providing technical guidance, monitoring results, account referral work, training and working on special projects, with the goal of ensuring consistent application of corporate underwriting guidelines and achieving profitable growth objectives.

This role can be based in any Canadian Intact office location

 

Here are a few ways you'll make a difference:

  • Handle complex referrals and consultations to support performance and underwriting

  • Develop and update guidelines and authority statements

  • Manage product development, product improvements and implementation

  • Conduct governance best practices through volume analysis and performing audits

  • Research and prepare portfolio reports

  • Provide underwriting training, mentor colleagues and underwriters

  • Collaborate with internal teams to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research and relationship building

  • Communicate changes related to product pricing, underwriting guidelines and new products

  • Participate in technical committees, rate committees, project teams, etc.


What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in large property and liability accounts, including multinational placements and complex reinsurance structures.

  • Experience with Risk-Managed Property & Energy accounts and their associated Equipment Breakdown exposures.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and projects.

  • Can make decisions in time sensitive situations, address complex problems, provide recommended course of action and take calculated risks.

  • Highly organized, with the ability to work towards goals while adapting to change in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead, initiate, monitor and close projects.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross-departmental teams.

  • CIP or FCIP designation from the Insurance institute of Canada.

  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.  

  • Willing to travel on occasion 

  • No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada
