Position Summary
This position champions and leads operational excellence and lean activities to systematically eliminate waste, non-value-added activity, and reduce process variation. Responsibilities include proper application of Lean/Six Sigma Tools, Project Management, Process Management, and Improvement and Cross Functional leadership. The focus is to drive performance through process improvement.
Responsibilities
Lead process improvement activities and teams to meet strategic goals through Kaizen events.
Facilitate communication between management and non-management.
Facilitate team meetings to discuss progress, initiatives, and/or other matters.
Facilitate use of improvement tools such as DMAIC, SMED, TPM, 5S, Visual Management, Value Stream mapping, Leader Standard Work, etc.
Provide leadership, development, and mentoring for others through lean deployments to create standards.
Attend/Facilitate inter-departmental meetings to discuss matters involving the coordination of multiple departments.
Participate in cross-functional teams to meet strategic goals.
Monitor and analyze process equipment performance.
Assess and implement improvements in productivity, waste generation, quality, and cost.
Assign lean deployment work tasks and activities to others.
Read SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and excerpts from technical documentation.
Conduct troubleshooting activities.
Train others on lean deployments and processes.
Communicate priorities and progress to team on a continuing basis.
Guide others on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), control documents, and/or other work instructions.
Analyze trends in data to provide accurate descriptions, identify root causes, and/or identify solutions or improvements
Monitor key performance indicators to meet strategic goals.
Attend team meetings to discuss progress, initiatives, and/or other matters.
Conduct safety checks for work group, department, or site.
Conduct presentations (other than training) for different audiences.
Track corporate quality KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
Work Schedule
8 hours: Monday - Friday. Flex schedule at times to accommodate night shift Lean/Six Sigma deployments.
The work schedule listed reflects the employee’s expected schedule at the time of hire. The Company reserves the right to modify work schedules at any time, with or without notice, based on business needs, operational requirements, or other considerations.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience leading lean initiatives within a regulated or cGMP environment.
Working knowledge of VSM, 5S, SMED, TPM, Leader Standard Work, Kaizen facilitation, Visual Management.
Strong project management experience.
Working knowledge of statistical process control concepts, data analysis, diagnostic tools and techniques.
Working knowledge of DMAIC and other root cause analysis tools.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal, communication tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technical discipline or 2 – 5 years industry related experience in Lean/Six Sigma projects and programs.
Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt.

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $80,000.00 - $132,500.00 per year. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
