Senior Specialist, AFC Compliance

 

Your Mission

As a Senior Specialist, you will be an integral part of the crypto monitoring team, analysing transactions for potential risks such as fraud, money laundering, and terrorism financing. You will effectively use blockchain analytics tools and serve as a point of contact for all crypto-monitoring–related processes and procedures. Drawing on your expertise, you will help further develop the Crypto Monitoring framework and partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders. In this role, you will contribute significantly to the team’s ongoing growth and success.

What You’ll Do

• Crypto Monitoring:  Lead and continuously enhance on-chain monitoring activities by analysing complex transaction patterns, identifying emerging typologies, and translating findings into actionable risk insights and scalable detection strategies.
• Quality Assurance & Control Effectiveness: Execute and refine quality control processes and frameworks, ensuring adherence to AML/CFT standards, driving remediation of identified gaps, and implementing continuous improvement measures to strengthen operational resilience and compliance maturity.
• Policy Development and Maintenance: Keep up to date on typologies and regulatory developments while developing, reviewing and enhancing AML/CFT policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring effective implementation and consistent application across stakeholders.
• Reporting & Data Analysis: Analyse and consolidate key data to produce clear, risk-focused reporting that supports crypto monitoring and regulatory compliance.  Provide structured insights through dashboards, summaries, and ad-hoc analyses, and ensure timely escalation of unusual or high-risk activities to the MLROs and your line manager, enabling informed and effective decision-making
• Research and Assessment: Monitor regulatory developments and industry best practices in financial crime prevention and crypto assets, translating insights into structured risk assessments that enhance and continuously improve the organisation’s risk analysis framework.

Who You Are

• You possess an analytical mindset with the ability to navigate complex problem-solving scenarios with high attention to detail and sound judgement.
• You have a profound expertise in crypto assets and blockchain technology and are motivated to continuously enhance this knowledge in a fast-evolving and challenging environment
• You bring practical experience in compliance roles within the crypto, banking, or fintech sectors, with a solid understanding of AML regulations (e.g., FM-GwG) and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into effective and scalable operational processes.
• You possess excellent English skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in German or additional European languages (e.g., French, Italian, Spanish) is a strong advantage, enabling you to clearly communicate complex compliance topics across diverse stakeholder groups.
• You manage multiple priorities effectively, delivering high-quality work independently while actively contributing to team initiatives. You are reliable, well-organised, and thrive in cross-functional collaboration.
