At WEX, we are looking for a visionary Senior Solutions Manager to lead our strategic partnerships and scheme relations across the APAC region. This is a high-impact role designed for a payments expert who thrives at the intersection of commercial strategy, product innovation, and network excellence.
As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on card payments, you will be the bridge between global payment networks (such as Visa and Mastercard) and WEX’s internal stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing our regional performance, educating the business on emerging trends, and delivering end-to-end solutions that keep WEX at the forefront of the digital payments evolution.
Your mission is to drive growth and execution across the payments ecosystem. Working closely with the Commercial Contracts Director and cross-functional leaders, you will identify strategic opportunities to enhance product capabilities, streamline operations, and improve financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Solution Growth: Lead geographic expansion across APAC with a focus on cross-border growth. You will review scheme and market solutions to identify new commercial models, including SME, open-loop, and mobile solutions.
Scheme Leadership: Act as the lead SME for scheme-driven innovations. You will oversee BIN portfolio expansion, ensure alignment with business priorities, and lead the launch of new solutions across all Lines of Business (LOB).
Innovation & Customer Engagement: Partner with WEX P&L leaders to co-create innovative scheme solutions with customers. You will lead local acceptance programs and foster customer ideation to ensure our models meet evolving market needs.
Strategic Initiative Management: Coordinate the full lifecycle of scheme solution delivery—from inception to implementation. You will synchronize efforts across Sales, Product, Technology, Operations, and Risk to ensure every solution meets technical and commercial standards.
You are a commercially-minded leader with deep roots in the payments industry. You possess the rare ability to translate complex technical network requirements into clear business value.
Your Experience & Skills
Payments Expertise: Extensive experience in B2B/Commercial payments, specifically virtual cards. A background in Fleet cards is a significant advantage.
Product Management Mastery: You must have a background in payments product management at an Issuer or Acquirer.
Network Savvy: Deep knowledge of scheme/network solutions, solution mapping, and BIN/Card economics.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate with everyone from senior executives to operational teams, both internally and externally.
Strategic Thinking: The ability to anticipate regulatory shifts, future network changes, and finance trends, evaluating their impact on bank operations.
Agility & Resilience: You are comfortable managing ambiguity and can pivot quickly in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
Professional Background: 7+ years in contract management, commercial roles, or financial services with direct exposure to Visa, Mastercard, or other major networks.
Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in P&L and business case reviewing (Google Suite/Excel) to drive data-driven decision-making.
