About the role:
As a Senior Software Tester in the Device Connectivity team within the Donor Information System (DIS) space under the Plasma‑Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance of software solutions that integrate medical devices with DIS applications. You will design, execute, and optimize test strategies that cover functional, non‑functional, integration, and negative scenarios across complex device‑data workflows.
Your role will be crucial in enhancing testing methodologies, maintaining standard operating procedures, and driving adoption of emerging technologies including AI‑assisted testing techniques and intelligent data analysis to increase test coverage and efficiency. You will collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure high‑quality product releases and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
This position aligns with the Testing & Validation Chapter of the ICC and will initially report to the Functional Delivery Lead until the In‑Center Automation/Execution QA role for DIS is staffed, at which point reporting may transition accordingly.
How you will contribute:
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead core execution teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and effective task delegation.
Mentor and support junior testers, ensuring skill development and smooth execution.
Act as the communication bridge between the execution team and management, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Actively contribute to ICC Testing & Validation Chapter standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Test Strategy & Execution
Develop comprehensive test plans based on requirements and architectural/design specifications.
Execute functional, regression, integration, API, device‑workflow, and negative testing activities.
End‑to‑end test strategy that includes entry/exit criteria, test levels
Estimation & capacity planning: Test effort estimation models, resource planning, and budget awareness.
Release readiness: Formal go/no‑go criteria, release sign‑off protocols, change control boards (CCB) participation.
KPIs/Metrics: Defect leakage/escape rate, DRE, requirements coverage, automation ROI, cycle time, mean time to detect & resolve (MTTD/MTTR).
UAT & site readiness: Planning, training, scripts, and acceptance criteria for clinical/center environments.
Perform and guide AI‑driven test generation, such as:
Using AI tools to auto‑generate test scenarios and optimize coverage.
Leveraging ML‑based pattern recognition to identify high‑risk test areas.
Apply data‑driven testing, including:
Analyzing device‑generated datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and edge cases.
Designing effective test data strategies based on historical and real‑time device payloads.
Automation & Tools
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Tosca, JUnit, Copilot or
equivalent automation frameworks
Contribute to AI‑augmented automation, using intelligent locators, self‑healing scripts, and predictive execution.
Manage defects using JIRA; perform detailed triage and ensure closure.
Collaborate closely with Development, Product, Device Engineering, and Business teams to refine requirements and test strategies.
Virtualization tools (WireMock, Docker, TestContainers).
Hands-on mobile automation (Appium, Detox, Espresso).
Creating internal quality tools that empower dev teams.
Manage Log analysis using ELK/Splunk/Grafana or automated system observability checks.
