Senior Software Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the DTI (Digital Technology and Innovation) line of business with strong software engineering fundamentals and experience working with modern AI technologies. This role focuses on designing and building next-generation digital solutions leveraging artificial intelligence capabilities, including large language models, intelligent automation, and agent-based architectures.

The ideal candidate has hands-on development experience, exposure to AI/ML concepts, and a strong passion for learning new technologies, building prototypes, and delivering scalable production systems. This role requires collaboration, technical ownership, and the ability to contribute to innovative engineering initiatives.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments

  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of Java experience

  • 4+ years of J2EE experience

  • 3+ years of Spring framework experience

  • 2+ years of experience developing and using RESTful Application Program Interface (API)

  • 1–2 years of experience working with AI/ML technologies such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, or Large Language Models (LLMs)

  • 1 yr Hands-on experience to agent-based or AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar technologies


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure) and containerization technologies

  • Exposure to prompt engineering, model evaluation, or AI experimentation frameworks

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to learn new technologies quickly

  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies

  • 2+years of Mongo DB experience

  • 3+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience or a combination of both

  • 3+ years of relational database experience

  • Experience contributing to large-scale program architecture solutions

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience

  • Experience with virtual assistant platforms

Pay range:

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
