Job Description
You will build and run automated tests to make sure our industrial automation software and connected systems work as expected. You'll validate all features through automation, with some manual testing when needed. The job also involves creating clear test documentation, reporting issues, and working with global engineering teams, while exploring new technologies to improve testing speed and coverage.
You will report to Senior Manager, Software Engineering and follow a Hybrid working schedule in Singapore
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop test plans for new features or help existing ones ensuring they meet the established requirements.
- Execute API testing to verify the functionality, reliability, and performance of system interfaces
- Configure and test industrial network environments, including industrial Ethernet CIP, Profinet, EtherCAT, Profibus DP, Modbus RTU/TCP and other protocols
- Configure different test network topologies: star topology, bus topology, ring topology, etc.
- Configure test environments for SFTP, FTPS, SNMP, SSH communication protocols
- Provide progress reports.
- Create test cases and related documents that meets the product quality requirements, including traceability.
- Create test automation plans and automate required test cases.
- Conduct manual or automated tests, reports anomalies, and characterizes the anomalies based on company quality criteria.
- Participate in reviews of requirement documents, test cases and user documentation.
- Be willing to research and explore new avenues by using the latest technologies and standards.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industry Automation or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in software testing
- Direct experience writing automated test cases using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Playwright
- Familiar with industrial network protocols (such as CIP, Profinet, Profibus DP, Modbus RTU/TCP, EtherNet/IP, etc.)
- Familiar with industrial automation hardware (PLC, frequency converters, network switches, etc.) and software configuration programming. For example: AB, Siemens, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Eaton, Wago, etc.
- Direct experience on web testing including web test framework usage
- Direct experience with Agile software development process
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Be familiar with manual and automated testing methodologies
- Be familiar with test automation framework
- Apply knowledge of testing cloud-based software products
- You will collaborate with engineers based in China; therefore, collaborating in Mandarin would be an added advantage.
