Are you excited by solving complex technical challenges while building scalable, highly available, and performant platforms used by millions of users worldwide Autodesk is seeking a passionate Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) to join a team of diverse, smart, and driven engineers building next-generation customer success experiences.
In this role, you will work within a high-performing Scrum team where the code, infrastructure, and services you develop will have a direct and measurable impact on millions of Autodesk users. This initiative is central to our transformation journey and customer experience strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, debug, and document scalable and reusable frontend components and applications
Write high-quality, maintainable code following Test-Driven Development (TDD) and engineering best practices
Lead and actively participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions
Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence across the team
Collaborate closely with architects, DevOps, Product Management, UX, and Support teams to deliver robust solutions
Translate business requirements into well-designed technical solutions with accurate effort estimates
Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and processes to improve quality, performance, and developer productivity
Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis
Contribute to system architecture decisions, ensuring security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
Customise and integrate third-party JavaScript libraries and frameworks as required
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field
5–8 years of industry experience in frontend development
Strong hands-on experience with React and modern JavaScript frameworks, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript HTML5 and CSS3
Solid understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and performance optimisation
Experience working in Scrum/Agile environments
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
Experience with build tools, bundlers, and CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of developer experience and build automation best practices
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with micro-frontend architectures, builds scalable, high-performance React/TypeScript applications with strong architecture, accessibility, and maintainability standards
Experience working with Generative AI (GenAI) technologies, including integrating AI-powered features into web applications
Practical knowledge of prompt engineering, including designing, testing, and optimising prompts for large language models (LLMs) to deliver reliable and context-aware user experiences
Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of frontend observability and performance monitoring tools
Experience with design systems and component libraries
Exposure to security best practices (XSS, CSRF, OAuth, etc.)
Experience writing unit and component tests using Jest (e.g., with React Testing Library)
Experience writing and maintaining end-to-end (E2E) and UI automation tests using Playwright
Familiarity with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improving test reliability and coverage
