What you will do

In PGIM, our Investment Accounting Technology team is a dynamic, fast-paced environment with exciting challenges on the horizon. We are looking for a senior software engineer with strong tech skills to help us build our next generation of investment accounting and securities lending trading systems.

This position is performed in a hybrid manner with a mix of work performed from our office in Letterkenny, Ireland and remotely.

What you can expect

  • Build and optimize data pipelines, logic, and storage systems with the latest coding practices and industry standards, modern design patterns, and architectural principles; remove technical impediments.
  • Develop high-quality, well-documented, and efficient code adhering to all applicable Prudential standards.
  • Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system end-to-end and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact  
  • Write unit, integration tests, and functional automation, researching problems discovered by quality assurance or product support, and developing solutions to address the problems.
  • Bring a strong understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, provide input and coach team members, and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day.
  • Work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables.

What you will bring

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric: Extensive experience with Microsoft Fabric's architecture, components, and development tools, as well as strong skills in native languages Python and T-SQL
  • Programming Languages: Strong skills in C#, .NET, and JavaScript.
  • Continuous Integration/Deployment: Experience with CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes.
  • Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, and how to integrate Microsoft Fabric within cloud solutions.
  • Data Management: Ability to work with databases and data management tools, including SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.
  • Web Services and APIs: Development and integration of web services and APIs using Microsoft Fabric.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage projects, timelines, and resources effectively to meet business objectives.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working in teams and collaborating with other departments to align development with business goals.
  • Version Control Systems: Proficiency in using version control systems like Git for code management.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices to enhance productivity and project management.
