About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior or Staff Level Software Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in C# .NET and C++. The ideal candidate will have strong web development skills, including expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and component frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar, for building web applications at scale. A comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), SOAP, REST, and Continuous Integration (CI) is essential. You will be responsible for building high-quality software, utilizing static and dynamic code analysis, and ensuring security in open-source development.
Responsibilities
Analyze requirements and translate business needs to quality stories and tasks
Estimate and prioritize work engaged effectively with stakeholders
Perform technical design and documentation – wiki, doc, boards
Deliver product features that conform to quality standards with metrics
Support team leadership with prioritizing risks and mitigation
Mentor junior team members to add business value and individual growth
Engage product teams and stakeholders, development teams, SRE, and DevOps
Utilize Agile and hybrid agile models in software development in LexisNexis, an enterprise-scale organization
Own activities that improve team and or development practices as measured by the organization
Stay up to date with practical technology trends and professional practices
Communicate effectively in English, ensuring compliance with legal and web regulations
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a software engineering role
Expert proficiency in .NET framework, .NET (formally .NET Core)
Solid proficiency in Web Form technologies (ASPX, ASMX)
Strong knowledge of MVC, C#, MVP, REST, Web API
Breadth of development experience with OOP (Java, C++, C#, etc.)
Proficiency in software development and configuration management on hybrid cloud – on-premises and public cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Solid proficiency in data structure design and implementation, including SQL, NoSQL, ORM
Proficiency with web development -- JavaScript language, working with HTML and CSS
Experiences with GenAI prompt engineering and code development tools such as CoPilot and ChatGPT
Preferred:
Practical experience with advanced or emergent algorithms and APIs such graph and GraphQL
Practical experience with data systems design, working with relational and ‘schema-less’ data
Practical agile development practices including customization and iteration of rituals
Practical leadership responsibilities – project or organizing work in a team
Practical knowledge of Content Management System (CMS) or Learning Management System (LMS) or similar in a web application
Qualifications:
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in C# .NET, and related OOP programming languages or framework
Solid web development experience, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and component frameworks like React or Angular.
Experience with software quality – test automation, code analysis, security
Experience with open-source development
Practical experiences with Agile methodologies and tools, including orchestrating work using scrum and kanban boards
Excellent communication skills in English.
