Red Hat Engineering is seeking an Senior Software Engineer to join our Hybrid Cloud Management (HCM) Engineering Productivity team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to Red Hat’s hybrid cloud vision by creating tools, frameworks, and automation that help HCM engineers deliver faster, safer, and more scalable services.
The HCM Engineering Productivity team builds and maintains a suite of developer experience and infrastructure tools used across HCM — from continuous integration systems and ephemeral testing environments to AI-driven developer assistance and automation frameworks. As a key member of this team, you’ll design and implement software that improves the way our engineers build, test, and release cloud-native applications on OpenShift. You’ll collaborate with engineers across multiple HCM services to identify pain points, standardize workflows, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance productivity and reliability across Red Hat’s hybrid cloud ecosystem.
Design, implement, and maintain developer productivity tools and platforms that streamline the software delivery lifecycle for HCM teams.
Build APIs, automation, and CI/CD pipelines that accelerate development and testing workflows across multiple services.
Collaborate with SREs, developers, and quality engineers to improve observability, build reliability, and deployment efficiency.
Partner with other Engineering Productivity teams to drive adoption of best practices in build, test, and release automation.
Contribute to shared infrastructure services such as ephemeral environments, resource modeling APIs, and developer onboarding automation.
Measure and monitor the performance of tools in production to ensure high availability and low latency.
5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Proficiency in Go and/or Python, with strong focus on backend systems and APIs.
Experience developing and deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes or OpenShift.
Familiarity with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton) and modern DevOps workflows.
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
Experience developing internal developer platforms or SaaS tooling for engineers is a plus
Familiarity with observability and logging frameworks (Prometheus, Loki, Splunk, CloudWatch) is a plus
Experience with AI-assisted development, productivity analytics, or workflow automation is a plus
