The Senior Software Engineer codes software applications based on business requirements. The Senior Software Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise API and Integration is a critical role in advancing our enterprise API strategy and AI integration capabilities. This engineer will play a key role in enhancing our existing Unified API Developer Portal to support the MCP server/tool catalog, enabling discovery, provisioning, and secure consumption of MCP-enabled APIs by AI agents. This role will also contribute to the evolution of our MCP framework that transforms APIs into MCP-compatible services for AI agent consumption.

 

The Senior Software Engineer will:

  • Design and develop full-stack web applications using C#/.NET and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Build secure, scalable RESTful APIs and contribute to API lifecycle management and governance.
  • Define and implement standards for API design, development, and operationalization including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to build CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments (Azure, or GCP), ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Lead efforts in database design, query optimization, and data modeling using relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
  • Contribute to the development of enterprise integration patterns and reusable components.
  • Support the implementation of workflow orchestration platforms and AI-enabling integrations (e.g., MCP).
  • Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and technical leadership to promote engineering excellence.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and drive continuous innovation in software development practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 7 or more years of experience in full-stack software engineering roles.
  • Strong proficiency in C#/.NET and experience with Angular or React.
  • Experience designing and securing APIs using OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API architecture, and familiarity with GraphQL and event-driven systems.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL optimization.
  • Experience integrating APIs with third-party platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub, Splunk).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in agile, cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • MS or higher in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and API gateway technologies (e.g., Apigee, Azure API Management).
  • Knowledge of data privacy practices and compliance standards.
  • Experience working with mission-critical systems and high-availability architectures.

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.  
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$106,900 - $147,000 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
