Senior Software Engineer, General Motors LLC
Job Summary
General Motors is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Lane Map Fusion team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge software solutions that power the autonomous driving technology. You will leverage your expertise in software development and data architecture to deliver robust and scalable applications within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
Job Responsibilities
* Maintain and optimize existing C-based Software for Lane Map Fusion, improving execution efficiency and memory footprint.
* Lead the potential rewrite of legacy modules to modern, modular architectures while maintaining strict real-time performance requirements on MCU or Embedded Linux targets.
* Write clean, efficient, and well-documented software code following best practices and architectural patterns.
* Perform comprehensive debugging and troubleshooting of software applications to identify and resolve issues promptly.
* Actively participate in and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
* Collaborate effectively with product owners, architects, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools within a SAFe environment.
* Design and execute thorough test plans to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of developed software.
* Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying relevant advancements to enhance our products and processes.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in related fields.
* Proven experience in software development, with a strong portfolio of successfully delivered projects.
* Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
* Proficiency in debugging complex software systems and identifying root causes of issues.
* Solid understanding and practical experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
* Exceptional skills in software coding, with proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages (e.g. C++, C).
* Strong understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
* Experience with various testing methodologies and tools to ensure software quality.
