AGL acquired Everty, a leading software solution provider that assists businesses and organisation in electrifying fleets and operating EV charging infrastructure. Everty delivers end-to-end EV charging solutions and it this role you are part of a small team with a variety of responsibilities.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building and evolving our platform, contributing to products that drive real impact for customers and support decarbonisation at scale.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll design, develop, and enhance backend services, frontend applications, and cloud infrastructure—ensuring performance, reliability, security, and scalability. You’ll also contribute to technical architecture decisions, support the ongoing evolution of our systems, and mentor engineers within the team.

  • Optimise cloud and system performance: Shape and enhance our AWS environment to drive reliability, scalability and high performance across the Everty platform.

  • Contribute to product direction: Work closely with Product and cross‑functional teams to refine requirements, influence the roadmap, and use data and insights to guide decision‑making.

  • Champion engineering excellence: Mentor engineers, uphold high coding and testing standards, and drive continuous improvement through refactoring, performance tuning and thoughtful tech‑debt management.

  • Support charger onboarding & integration: Oversee endtoend testing and integration of new charger models to ensure seamless compatibility with the Everty platform.

  • Drive integrations and platform interoperability: Lead the design and implementation of integrations with external systems and services, ensuring reliable and scalable interoperability.

About you:

  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling SaaS platforms, with a solid grasp of multi-tenant architecture, reliability, security, and operational excellence.

  • Passion for engineering excellence, with a track record of mentoring engineers, improving code quality, and driving continuous improvement (including refactoring and managing technical debt).

  • Experience integrating and working with external systems, third-party platforms, or hardware/software ecosystems is a plus, particularly where reliability and interoperability are critical.

  • Strong proficiency in Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), React (web), and modern frontend practices; experience with mobile (React Native/Expo) and PostgreSQL/ORMs is highly regarded.
