ABOUT THE TEAM
You will be part of the Digital Engineering domain that owns the Climate Tech and Originate platforms, which power all supply  and demand side touchpoints at STX. 
Our domain’s mission is to make every counterparty interaction fully self serve and delightful by removing operational burden and unlocking the next phase of STX’s growth. You will be responsible for building and scaling the system that power credit risk assessment, monitoring, and decision-making at STX. We design and deliver systems where complex workflows feel simple, intuitive, and reliable; so counterparties experience STX as the trusted default for trading and originating with.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop scalable services supporting the full trading lifecycle, from counterparty onboarding and risk assessment to exposure monitoring, limit management, and reportingfront-office origination to back-office settlement and reconciliation.
• Create clean APIs, modular architectures, and data pipelines to ensure clarity, performance, and reliability across the digital platform.
• Translate complex business processes into maintainable, production-ready software that scales with organizational needs.
• Contribute to technical excellence by writing high-quality, well-tested code and participating in design/code reviews to raise team standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Trading, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Data teams to deliver robust, well-architected solutions.
• Mentor and grow engineering talent, sharing best practices, modeling craftsmanship, and fostering a culture of clarity and accountability.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 6-8+ years of experience building scalable, reliable software, ideally in fintech, trading platforms, or data-intensive systems.
• Prior experience working within credit risk or financial risk systems is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in TypeScript with strong backend experience in Python or Node.js, and hands-on experience with AWS, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
• Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (CDK/Terraform), Kubernetes, and cloud-native design patterns.
• Strong system design and engineering fundamentals, including clean architecture, testing, and production-grade software development.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to bridge technical and business perspectives and give/receive constructive feedback.
• Curiosity and growth mindset, staying up-to-date with emerging technologies like LLM-powered automation, serverless systems, and data-centric design.
