Purpose of the position within Cognex
The purpose of this position is to design, implement, test and document the software of logistics systems and supplementary products and participation in related activities.
Area of responsibilities / tasks
- Design new software components / functionalities
- Maintain and debug existing software components
- Implement new features as required
- Implement automated tests
- Follow defined software development processes and suggest improvements
- Review product requirements to give development estimates and product feedback
- Report your progress in a timely manner
- Take an active role in internal discussions
- Guide more junior team members in designing / implementing new features
- Learn new technologies and skills as required by your assignment
Objective requirements related to the position
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development
- B. Sc. In Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Deep understanding of at least 1 programming language: Angular, JavaScript, Python, C#
- Deep understanding of at least 1 technology stack: HTML5, .Net
- Familiarity with Jira, Stash/Bitbucket, TeamCity, and Confluence (or similar tools).
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum development.
- Practical knowledge of software engineering best practices
- Fluency in English
