Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary

The Firmware Developer will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for Industrial Ethernet products. The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams, ensuring adherence to industry best practices, and supporting product deployment and post‑release activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in embedded systems, networking, and real‑time operating environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain production‑quality embedded firmware for Industrial Ethernet product lines.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to define, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Ensure compliance with industry‑accepted software development processes and coding standards.
  • Provide technical support and root‑cause analysis to internal engineering teams and external customers after release.
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives across the product lifecycle.
  • Aptitude towards usage of AI tools in development life cycle

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of professional experience in embedded system design, development, or system integration.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in secure, connected embedded solutions with a demonstrated record of delivering production‑ready software.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in C programming, debugging, and firmware porting for embedded platforms (preferably ARM Cortex‑Mx).
  • Extensive experience in developing TCP/IP‑based applications.
  • Hands‑on experience with bare‑metal development and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Linux or Zephyr. Experience with Linux would be preferred.
  • Working knowledge of embedded system peripherals including RAM, MDIO, MII, Flash, UART, I²C, SPI, and related driver development in Linux.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Industrial Ethernet standards such as TSN, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and EtherCAT.
  • Experience with C++ and object‑oriented programming concepts.
  • Exposure to industry‑standard tools and practices for configuration management, version control, and defect tracking.

Competencies

  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience in Embedded linux environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Effective collaboration skills with the ability to work across geographically distributed teams.
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn new technologies and domain areas.
